Dark circles around your eyes. Causes, treatments.

Causes.
Dark circles around your eyes could be genetic or not, adult or children, does not look pretty no matter what the cause is.
Dark circles under eyes usually aren’t a sign of exhaustion or serious illness, though they can make you feel old, unhealthy and tired. Dark circles under eyes affect both men and women, often starting in adulthood, although children can develop dark circles under eyes, too.
Causes:

  1. Sun exposure ( melanin level raise under sun exposure and causes skin darkening and especially dark circles skin darkening)
  2. Thin skin around or under eyes could be because:

                 – genetic

                 – fat loss
                 – loss of collagen (age)

    3.   Dark circles may show because your skin become white due to:
                 – pregnancy
                 – tiredness
                 – exhaustion
                 – period
                 – stress
    4. Not enough vitamins, lack of nutrition, lack of fat in your diet, lack of protein
    5. Iron deficiency
    6. Heredity ( dark circles run in families)
    7. Pigmentation ( usually African – American)
    8. Nasal congestion and / or allergies
    9. Serious illness

So when you think about your dark circles, try to analyze what cause it, how long you had it, and such.
I know a friend of mine who had it since I remember her, which is childhood. She has dark circles that run in family. My daughter has blue circles, and it had been there since she was born, she has thin skin under her eyes.
I notices that my husband got his dark circles suddenly and after we checked his blood, it was significant iron deficiency.

Treatments
Check your diet, make sure you have enough rest and do one of the following:
1. Eat protein – amino acids are very important, they are building blocks of our bodies.
2. Take Vitamin A supplement if your doctor doesn’t mind
3. Home remedy – for 15 min apply fresh cucumber or potato around your eyes as a mask
4. Vitamin K cream will help with making skin look better and veins showing less.
5. Collagen serum around your eyes.
6. Double your water.

If your dark circles are not improving within a month, get a blood test to check ferritin levels.
