WHY EAT VEGETABLES / CAN’T I JUST COUNT CALORIES AND EAT LESS?

A friend of mine was surprised that I pack so much vegetables with me to work.
I am not on the strict diet. It is a way of life.
At some point you realize that whole foods make you happy, there is something inside them that brings you a good mood and happiness.
So I do eat fruits for breakfast, it could be cherries, apples, oranges, pineapple… I drink tea with lemon, it all make me feel great in the morning. And I take veggies with me to work, as well as couple of apples and couple of oranges. That will make sure that when I am hungry, I will chew an apple, an orange, a carrot, or something in this nature.

So why veggies? Because they have fiber that is not digestible by our bodies, and it grabs oils and has while going through our digestive system and takes it out . So think about cleaning your body from inside by eating salad, or apple, green vegetables…

If your goal is losing weight, I would limit calories to 1400 – 1600  and use about 70 % of it on fruits and mostly green vegetables, the rest – piece of fish or any seafood would work. Nuts, if you do not like fish. For dressing I would use lemon and olive oil. You absolutely have to have protein and oils. So olive oil, or omega 3 that is in fish is necessary. I like salmon, tuna and shrimp.

You really do not need to exercise a lot if you eat right. You can have 30 min a day and look really good. I would spend 15 min on cardio and 15 min on strength training. Of course you can do more, but a lot of people blame weight gain on not having enough time, well you really need only 30 min a day!
